Tror det er denne løsning Mik pt kigger på (metode 2 med sammenbygning af 944 og earlybay nav), så får han en droppet 944 spindel på en std. earlybay forbro. Alle de gode egenskaber ved bærekugleforbroen beholdes, og han kan sætte 944 bremser direkte på - ingen custom løsninger, alt kan købes hos den lokale autoreservedels pusher.... "billig" og god løsning synes jeg. Havde selv valgt den hvis jeg havde en bayforbro. Så kan kan altid supplere med et justersæt i forbroen hvis man vil længere ned.

"we have put 944 fronts onto bay windows by 2 different methods. the first and easiest is to get our minor kit which has brackets and bearing spacers. the 944 and the post 64 bus use the same wheel bearings, but the bus spindle is longer, so we make spacers that don't allow the bearing races to go into the 944 hub quite as far and matches the spread of the bus spindle. the rear hub area needs to be machined to fit the type 2 grease seal on 68 and later busses. the stock 944 seal works on 64 to 67 busses. also the grease cap needs to be modified because the 944 cap is a little too short and won't seal before it hits the end of the spindle. on the 64 to 67 's we modify the 944 cap. I can't remember exactly what we do for the bay window, but it wasn't difficult. the reason I can't remember is that we have done a lot of earlys and not many lates.

in the rear, it is possible to redrill the 5 x 112 rear hub from a 71 up and install it onto the 68 along with the stub axle and rear drums (which also need a modification) I am not certain if the shoes and wheels cylinders from the 68 will work in the 71 up drum or not but it is easy to change it all to the later stuff and drill the hubs for 5 x 130"
