Hello all! I'm not very good at introducing myself so I thought it would be easier with a post of myself and my racecar in the process of building!

The welding all complete and a shot of the back which has been cut away..

Hope to make it to Scc and race some not a 11 second car but time will tell.

I will start with what I have and go from there/2276cc 44idfs weber DrD raceing heads L6 fk10 cam and more hope fore 150/165 hps to start with,turbo power from
CB next year and Peter Englezos at Cogbox for the box.

Engine in for a test fit and the new DRD heads turned up,all looking good
the heads just need some hand polishing.

Hello all! I made it to Scc and had some with the bug and fund that have a horrible ego and a 15.5 pas will not do but ok of a 1st timer down the track.Well its no monster build car.

Next is to chang the gear box and the 44idfs for someing better for next year.

Hello mate.
Hate to be the one to tell you this, but your carbs are NOT the limiting factor at this point. Your heads are.
I continue be surprised as to why this guy can stay in business with the work he does (And the price he charges for what he supposidly are doing.) I have been there too, I´ll admit that. I bought from him because I was recommended by a third party, and I wanted to save time whilst building some lower tech engines... - BOY did I get hosed. Very high prices for a crappy job that I could have done significantly better myself. Those heads will NEVER get you in the 11´s. Mid to low 13´s on a good day is what they´ll do.

So if you want to improove the time slips, the cylinderheads are the first point of improovement you need to make. - 44 IDF´s will supply enough air to run a high 12 if the rest is good.

Peter makes good gearboxes. So there you are in good hands. He actually knows his way around engines too. So ring his bell to, to get a second opnion. you do´nt have to take my word alone for it.

Hi Farmer thanks and I know what you say, that heads are limiting factor here but I got what I asked for from Drd raceing and the $$$ for heads was ok for me after talking for some time we came to a price were I was happy. I fund Drd to be ok to talk with,I never go by what others say 1st and find out myself what is good or bad out there,yes the heads can be a better and ass a cnc machine tool worker,I now can see were and what to do for my self if I want to so thats ok for me.

Ass this was my 1st engine bild its a good place to start from,and have some fun doing it.I had no need to get in to the 11 or 12 this time maybe next year I be there.
I am looking into going turbo or as you say some other heads.

What would be good?

To day I made a start on the turbo set up,removed the carbs and next is to take the
heads off and work to lower the com from 9.1 to arund 7.5,I will go with the fk10 cam that in the engine for now and see how she gos,its not the best cam for a turbo
but it will work or maybe a Tcs can from Engle,or a SL-1racing one.

Next big work is the fuel line,pump,tubo regulator and digital ignition

Seems like you know your way around a Bettle. When you ar through with your project, will you post a "how-to-turbo"? Looks like a enginefool like me could do the job aswell. not that i wan´t a stripmachine, it´s for my 78,T2 Crewcab

I will do what I can to post what goes on with this set up,the Engine work is some what the easy part,My 1st moter was by Jhon maher raceing in England,the very 1st man to run a 10 out side the Usa in 1993.It was easy just to pay some one do do the work,this Engine took a lot off shit for arund Two years as it was my 1st car and daily driver,but after a rebild at home
I fund out that you,or I can doit,I have made fuckups and have find out the hard way,but that part off the game for me.

The turbo takes some more planing,but SL-1racing is there to help me get this thing working as for the most the turbo set up has come from them.
I do not know shagg at SL-1racing but after talking to him I feel good about what I am doing and there is so much info out there,just look around,this is just one way
to turbo a bug,there is Cb setup off the shelf parts,but this is old school cool with a modern twist,just got to have it

Hi jacob its a t3/t4 from SL-1racing in the US

I have a bit of progress, but not substantial. I worked on the exhaust a bit and I'm trying to decide if and where I want a flange to be able to break the exhaust apart about where it comes thru the rear tin.Part of me thinks I won't need one due to how it's laid out, the other part of me says to do it, it can't hurt.

After finding some time,I now have this up and runing,played arund with the jeting
till were I was happey and got a nice ide, now just need to have the lot clend
and ceramic coated.

Some more progress this week{ tuning it for about 2.5-3 hrs I played with jetting since it was PIG rich BUT she runs pretty solid,but fiddled with the timing bit and got her dialed in. It turned out to be a combination of float level (running out of fuel), and timing!

Cool! my car is scary as hell when boost. Should have lots off hps in there? would be happy with 250 or more.....

I will cool CB Performance and grab their Digital Magna Spark ignition set up.MMM

Out with Fk10 and in with Web cam 86b,made a better support for the Dcoe and moved it up about 15degrees off center,but still need that o2 and some kind of air filter on the Dcoe,played arund with the jeting after the cam change but realy need that wide band 02 gauge,buts its on its way,

The car is a 1970 1302 that I payed 3000krs for some years back as a runner from this old man near were I lived at time.did some small rust repaer did a once over w in mat black from a can, then changer the front struts,re did the supension front and back
the steering,with all new parts were needed,using urethane bushing,in side is as was
just have a some gauges for oil,oil temp,pressure,head temp,rpm,and now for turbo boost,the last pic not mine but you see were Vw got that Idea he he
