Looking for advice on importing my Bay from Scotland

I have just arrived in Copenhagen from Scotland and I was hoping to bring my Bay over here. Can anyone give me advice on what to do and how much i will expect to pay in taxes etc. tusind tak, Gav.
drive it to Harwich UK - an take the ferry to Esbjerg - and drive to copenhagen...
i dont no if the are a thing called a cartrain in the GB...
taxes are not easy - but around 5000 - 10000 dkr...
order at socall "TOLDSYN" at your local city .
take a copy off your scottish papers - you might need them if you sometime in the future is moving back-...

If you give me someinformation on year model and so on i can look it up on the danish Tax webpage.
Are you going to stay and live here?
You'd have to go to danish MOT and have it Mot'd twice in one go : first registration Mot (they make sure year, model and state is accordingly to papers)and then Road mot to check it for faults and so on.
Thats around Dkr. 800,-
And then there's a 100,- a day for driving on testplates.
Thats unless you trailer it around for fun ofcourse.Lol
The Reg tax i will look up but my 68 bay i was expecting around 4000-6000 on it.
You being in copenhagen is easy to help with adresses and so on

thanks alot for the quick replies. its a 74 Bay and it cost me around 3000 pounds. in good condition though and no rust. Are Bays expensive to buy in DK? Thinking of selling it in Scotland and buying another here. Not really sure what teh market is like in DK for buying. Any advice?

This one is newly tested, have had rust doen and comes with 2 leather sofas cd player and 6 speakers..
Looks nice and are perhaps the nicer one i have seen.
Its in north Jylland though..*S*

looks like a good example. I came to denmark a couple of months ago. One of my friends in Scotland is a mechanic and he has been looking out for a Bay for me. He found one a month and ago and i have bought it .... without seeing it!! not sure if it is best to sell it on and buy one here instead. it was an import from Califonia and apparently is a good buy at 3000 pounds. I wasn't really sure of the tax system here for importing cars.

I'd probably sell it if i could get my 3k back and then go for a danish one.
Just to switch from one owner to another if there are plates on and its mot'd are just 400 kroner

same everywhere then! so overall, with a bit of luck, i could expect to pay between 6000 and 7000 for registering the car? not as bad as i thought it would be.
But then you have transport from Scotland.??
I have a guy , Pete coming next week to pick up a 54oval i have sold him but he is one or two hours from the Car trisn in south UK...
I think he is talking 350-450 pounds to pick up a car in denmark/sweden.. so thats on top?
Plus scotland is how far away driving *S*

yeh, thanks for the good advice. especially if the costs are unknown. 50000 dkr for a good Bay seems reasonable anyway.
What made you leave beatiful Scotland for this...?

could do with a good road trip!! not to sure if it will make it from the outskirt of europe to dk. i think i will keep on checking for others to buy here and if no luck bring it over.
better not say anything yet... don't want to disappoint you. but lets just say the scottish girls cannot compete with the danes.
